WhatsApp is my favorite messaging app that can send text messages, pictures and videos to all major mobile platforms like iPhone, Android, Windows, BlackBerry, Nokia etc. When you use Whatsapp, no need to worry about your message limits. You have to pay yearly fee $0.99 to send unlimited messages to any WhatsApp user whenever you want without any additional cost. WhatsApp became so popular with its stable design and easy use UI screen and nice features. WhatsApp message status display is one of the nice feature worth mentioning and most of us are not aware of this.
How to Know Your Message Delivered and Read by Recipient?
In WhatsApp chat window, you will be able to see blue or Grey tick marks underneath each message to display the message status. When you send a new message, initially you will see One “Gray tick” that indicates Message Successfully Sent. Most probably in the same instance this will change to “Two Gray ticks” saying that Message Successfully Delivered to Recipient’s Phone. This Two Grey ticks will eventually change to “Two Blue ticks” confirming that Message Read by Recipient.
You can check the status of any message that you send before if you want to make sure that it is read by Receiver. To see message status, you have to tap and hold on top of any message that you sent in chat window until you see a small popup menu. Now tap on Info and this will guide you to Message Info screen where you can see Read and delivery status and time of your message.
How to Know Who Has Read WhatsApp Group Message?
Well, the above feature is becoming more relevant when you send a WhatsApp group message. You can see who has read you message from your group. You have to follow the same step described above to get into Message Info window. Message window will show the status of you all members in your WhatsApp group. This message status will show into member groups, one is Message Read Group, second one is Message Delivered Group and the third one is Message Delivery group. You can see the time stamp for each member that they read or delivered message in your recipient’s mobile. In a group chat, the second check marks will appear when all participants in the group have received your message. The two blue check marks will appear when all participants in the group have read your message.
How to Disable Sending Read Receipts from Your Android or iPhone?
You can hide out read receipts if you don’t want to display the status and time of the message that delivered to your inbox. iPhone: Open WhatsApp > Settings > Account > Privacy > Read receipts > Off Android: Open WhatsApp > Settings > Account > Privacy > Read receipts > Uncheck Once you disable Read Receipt, the sender won’t be able to see your Read status and time stamp. The downside is if you turn off read receipts, you won’t be able to see read receipts from other people when you send messages. But you still be able to see the read receipts for group messages. If you don’t worry too much about your privacy, it is nothing going to hurt by keeping read receipts turned on and this will help you to make sure your messages are delivered and read by your recipients.
