The problem has already been fixed, but the damage may have already been done and those passwords may have got into the wrong hands. If someone gets hold of your Twitter password they’ll be able to not only potentially destroy your online reputation and impersonate you in front of your contacts, but any other online accounts for which you use the same password may be vulnerable. We recommend that when changing your password you select a strong password that is not easy to hack. You can also add two-form factor verification to your Twitter account for an extra layer of security: this will involve you entering a code sent to you via SMS each time you log into your account.
